RALEIGH, NC — "I am not Matt Davis' brother," said Ashley Davis to open his tournament press conference. "I am not Gumby's brother either."

Ashley, a.k.a. Flash, is a resident of Raleigh, NC and signs as the 5th player to represent the state of North Carolina. He follows Brandon Hunter, Chris Milam, Chris Lashley and Jamie Myers.

"This should be interesting," says Ashley. "I have always wondered what it would feel like to pack a suitcase and go on vacation 6 miles down the road. By the way, I am not Matt Davis' brother."

Flash lives 6 miles and 11 minutes from the Clarion Hotel.

"We are really proud to recruit such a quality young man as the Flash," Brandon Hunter said. "He's a very seasoned veteran of high calibre amateur golf. Being part of such a great field should be a big asset coming in because we have very high goals at our major championship."

The 2006 Carl Spackler Open begins in 93 days. Preferences begin Wednesday.
