Stern Kitchen Passes

March 31, 2006

CLAYTON, NC — The kitchen pass is not always the easiest thing to obtain; especially when the wife is draped over your back prior to a major championship. Marty Zabonik struggled with the kitchen pass for years before finally coming to his senses in 2005. Mike Trojanowski took a different approach by skipping marriage altogether.

"I am really excited about the Open Championship, Neuse and the field of players", said Marty Zabonik. "I asked for these kitchen passes nine months ago and really did not know if they would stand up to the test of time. I am really looking forward to a wonderful weekend." Marty will know whether his passes are still valid in just 68 days as the sixth annual Carl Spackler Open will begin play in Clayton, NC.

Mike Trojanowski, a Captains Club member since March 2001, received great reviews from the Captains Club when he dropped 20% off his handicap in 2005. "Troj does not cripple himself," says Tom McCauley. "Watson, Creighton, Trojanowski. These are the smart guys. These are the guys that will not be withdrawing from the Open Championship in 2020 because of back problems or psychological issues."

Troj has a jacket for a reason," said Tom McCauley. "And granted he is a hacker sometimes, but when I see a stress free athlete, I start betting money."

"Zabonik and Trojanowski has a good understanding of the golf swing now, but it took some really hard work," said Greg Long, Chairman of the CSOC. "Thank god for the Inside Approach." Trojanowski indirectly restructured his swing path in early 2005 with much success. "I look for Troj to surprise a lot of players and challenge for the title again."

Zabonik is one of 15 players coming from the state of Ohio. He enters this years tournament with a Top 3 handicap. "I fully expect Marty to be ready to play golf this year. Last year was embarrassing," says Long. "Another performance like last year will establish him as a one course wonder."

The Open Championship has not received one pregnancy withdrawl for the first time in its 6-year history. All 18 non-returnees have other lame excuses including international travel, work and weddings.

The 2006 Open Championship begins Round 1 play in 68 days. Tournament Options are available for 1 more week.
