CLAYTON, NC — After seemingly having an agreement in hand for Jillian’s to host the 2006 Awards Ceremony, The Captains Club had to do some quick shuffling after getting the runaround from the venue host.

Jay Myers solicited several requests for proposals and one choice clearly stood out from the rest.  Hi5, a sports restaurant/bar located a short 15 minute walk (by Myers and he’s a bit slow moving) from the Clarion Inn, was selected.  Hi5 not only offered the best pricing but the menu options were flexible and the room will be the nicest in Spackler history.  

“It really wasn’t a difficult decision,” stated a confident Myers.  “I was told by several individuals that double meat had to be an option and Hi5 delivered.  People are going to have trouble finishing their meals.  I’m worried about people being transformed into zombies while their bodies’ shutdown to digest their meals like a python.”

The best thing about the venue is that the room will not only hold our group but it will be table service for us all and everyone will have a seat.  The group is planning on eating there, having few drinks then potentially converging on other entertainment options.  There are at least 5 other watering-holes between the Clarion and Hi5.  Plan on seeing Spackler members visiting all of them.
