A New Top 5

April 11, 2006

EBENSBURG, PA — Joe Butkus did the expected and hopped over Scott Zavinski, however Chuck Long has dominated this spring and now enters the virtual tournament in first position. The 2006 Virtual Tournament has a new leader and he is over 50 years of age.

Zavinski slides to third position with 38.8 points per round. Member Joe Butkus takes over second position. Rookie Chace Farrell enters the tournament in 4th place while Bill Bateson rounds out the new top five.

"Lots of disappointing golf out there," says Matt Davis. "Chuck is really the only person going to another level this season. Maybe it is just one of those years."

Matt Davis posted his first round of the season at the Neuse. He shot 27 points and nearly 100 strokes. Fellow partner Kevin Long, Jr. posted 59 on the back nine. Jeremy Myers posted 11 strokes worse than that at the Neuse in Clayton, NC.

Chuck Long's latest round comes just last night when he shot 10-over par and no birdies. "It was a little windy today," said Long. "Things will improve as we get closer to June."

The 2006 Virtual Tournament Leaderboard has 21 players. The board expects to jump to 30 players within 2 weeks.
