CLAYTON, NC — The Captains Club today announces that several players in the 2006 Carl Spackler Open Championship won a minor lottery late last week after the apparel vendor made an error.

The windshirt vests purchased by 10 golfers will be upgraded from a $36 shirt to a $50 Cutter Buck windshirt vests at no charge. "The older vests were discontinued, but were available for purchase," said Greg Long from his vacation home in Virginia Beach. "It is a positive surprise for several of our valued players."

The long sleeve windshirts will not be upgraded. The apparel order is expected to arrive on May 20.

In other news, the tournament field continues to hover at 61 golfers. Awards Dinner reservations are being made. Tournament Roommates and Pairings are being constructed. Tournament Skins and Hole Difficulty Leaderboards have been published online for 2001-2005.

"The tournament is coming. The tournament is coming," said an excited Vice President of Awards, Jason Watson. "I have not had a smile on my face like this since I met Sandy at Madness on the Mountain at Mountain Valley."
