Hiser Signs as 62nd

May 17, 2006

HAYES, VA — The Carl Spackler Open has signed another rookie to compete in 2006 major championship. Brian Hiser of Hayes, Virginia signed last week to replace 1 of 5 disappointing cancellations. The field returns to 62 golfers.

"Hiser has tremendous success at the regional level," noted Vice President of Player Recruitment, Jason Watson. "Rumor has it... Hiser showcased his accuracy and course management skills in the past. His mental game has allowed his scorecards to nearly drop into double-digits. This guy does not hack on every hole as some reports have suggested."

Jeff Tatum added, "Hiser has shown great ball control over the years. Combined with his mental toughness, he has the ability to shoot +35 every time he tees it up. The adds great depth to the field and I look for him to contend for the Jacket and Horses Ass."

Hiser signs as the record 13th player from the state of Virginia. "Clearly the best shot this state has for their first major championship," said Captains Club member Matt Davis. "Hopefully they can have their game plan ready."

The 2006 Carl Spackler Open Championship begins on June 8. There are 44 players signed up for the annual practice round.
