CHARLES TOWN, WV — Mike Trojanowski, the Vice President of Outfits for the Carl Spackler Open, left his home in Buffalo, NY on Sunday evening for his 6th Carl Spackler Open Championship. He plans to cut the trip in half and use the first half of the week preparing for 2007-2009 tournaments.

Tom Fowble, Jason Watson and Greg Long of Ohio are riding along to play three possible venues. The three guys from Ohio are scheduled to play half the 36-hole Woods Resort on Sunday afternoon before sliding south 45 minutes to meet Trojanowski and play a very nice Locust Hill Golf Course. Both courses are 15 minutes north and south of Martinsburg, WV.

"There are no guarantees of what we might find," said Trojanowski during a cell phone call on Sunday night. "West Virginia has been a place that we have been eyeing for years. There is a casino, river rafting, low prices, bars, and plenty of quality golf. Add these golf courses are on the way to the Neuse and it all makes sense."

Trojanowski and foursome will side south again after a Monday afternoon round to play a 27 hole facility just west of Fredricksburg, VA. Meadows Farms Golf Course includes a green with a waterfall, 2 or 3 island greens and the longest hole in the United States according to the Guinness Book of World Records. The Par 6 plays with a sharp dogleg and lasts 1/2 mile or 841-yards.

"I really think this hole might be too long for me," said a scared Trojanowski during the cell phone call. "Slick says it is just four simple 210-yard 3-irons, but usually shank my lower irons. My goal is to play my game, practice with the inside approach and shoot less than 10 strokes and beat Watson and Fowble on the memorable hole."

Regardless of scores posted, the four golfers should be very loose and have golf swings in tip-top shape by Wednesday's practice round.

"I really need to see this waterfall coming off the green and golf cart tunnel through it," said Tom Fowble. "This is going to be a treat."

The 2006 Virtual Tournament continues to be very active with lots of scorecards being posted each day. Scott Zavinski continues to hold first position with a strong lead. Chet Munksgard has plowed through his first two rounds with 50 points per round. Another huge performance would make things interesting.
