Casale to Play Bethpage Black

June 16, 2006

LONG ISLAND, NY — Nick Casale is set to tee off today at the site of the 2002 and 2009 US Opens. His tee time comes just one week after his last major championship in Raleigh.

"I am not playing the tips," said Casale during a phone interview. "There is no way that can happen without a terrible experience at a premier venue."

Casale is the second player to play a major championship venue in the past 2 weeks. Tom McCauley played Vahalla in Louisville on June 4. He did not post his scorecard because he is stupid.

"Casale is probably the most consistent bogey golfer in the huge group," said buddy Chad Long. "If you need a bogey, you need Nick."

Casale is the defending champion of the 2005 Virtual Tournament. He won the honor after coming in late and hopping over Jean Dore for first prize. He currently holds 36th position in this year's season-long tournament.

"I really like my progress," said Nick Casale. "My game is far from embarrassing, but Bethpage Black could change that. I am already putting together a game plan to shoot 99."

Scott Zavinski continues to hold first position within the virtual tournament. Jean Dore holds last position.
