Career Rounds
June 28, 2006
WESTERVILLE, OH — Chad Long played his first non-major round of golf last Sunday; his first in nearly a year. In this case, a brand new house for the wife was enough to secure a kitchen pass for few hours. Just enough time to drive 3 miles north and play the 9-hole Arrowhead Lakes twice.
The time was well spent. Chad carded his best round of his life shooting 12-over par and scoring a whopping 58 points towards the Virtual Tournament. The career round included 2 birdies, which was thought to be impossible.
"That Skyline Chili Dog at lunch felt great," said Chad Long after his round. "I now have the magic and can turn it on whenever I wish; assuming Skyline is in the area."
Brother Brian Long also shot the best round of his life at Arrowhead shooting 12-over par and scoring 54 points. His round also included two birdies. Brian managed to match Chad, shot for shot, on the last 4 holes to force the push.
"I was just under fire on the back nine," said a very excited Brian Long. "I think 2-over par and could not be stopped."
Both Chad and Brian Long played the 9-hole course in sunny Westerville. Scott Miller was very skeptical after hearing the news. "It sounds like they were using magnetic golf balls," said Miller. "The last time I played with Chad in Columbus, we tied at 52-over par. It sounds fishy to me."
Brian Long made a move towards the top spot with his monsterous round. He now holds 3rd position on the Leaderboard. Scott Zavinski continues to hold first position.
