CLAYTON, NC — Rookie Ashley Davis played in his first Open Championship and with plenty of success including a Top 3 finish. Davis scored 134 points and 15 points from his first Golden Jacket.

Davis entered the tournament with 9 posted scorecards and +17.2 handicap. The scorecards included an average of 2 pars per round. Ashley poured in 19 pars during the tournament plus a 16-point eagle.

"Played some really good shots," says Davis. "The point system really exposes some awesome strokes."

The eagle came on Hole 8 after a magnificent approach shot to the multi-tiered green. A one-putt finished up the eagle and a very early lead to the 3-day tournament.

The Virtual Tournament continues to move into its second half with Jean Dore in last place.
