VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — The monthly Captains Club press conference was called for tournament updates including discussion about June 2007. Runner up for the Horses Ass every year, Kevin Long, Jr. took the microphone.

"Thank you everyone for attending today," says Long. "This tournament is very exciting business and our club looks forward to each press session."

Kevin sat down in his designated chair as a cloud of white puffy smoke raised from the chair. "Wow. I must have used too much Gold Bond. Anyways, I would like to discuss our two most important items this morning."

Without a pause and a concerned voice, "First would be the inability for Matt Boland to send us his group photos so we can official close out the 2006 tournament season and look forward to 2007. He is not killing me. He is killing the entire major championship. If one of you reporters can get that to him, that would be great."

Then Kevin shifted his butt in the chair and showed a smile. "Secondly, I have some updates on the 2007 Carl Spackler Open to communicate. We have investigated plenty of opportunities this summer already and believe we have a handle on the 2007 venue.

We are pretty sure this tournament will boil down to very southern Michigan or Kentucky. Each has wonderful venues and could see both states hosting our Open in 2007 and 2008."

Old Silo Golf Club is located 30 minutes east of downtown Lexington, KY. The Grande Golf Club and Legacy are both located northwest of Toledo, OH. Legacy Golf Club is 10 minutes and The Grande is 70 minutes near Jackson, MI.

Kevin then tackled the main issue presented in late June 2006 for next year. That being how to stir expectations after Mountain Valley and The Neuse without raising the price or disturbing overall success. "The same expectations and stale location is too boring," says a convincing Long. "The unexpected and exploration of each new venue is half the fun."

Long took a moment to guzzle some of his beer before farting out the left cheak and continuing with his prepared statement.

"Our three nominated locations in Michigan and Kentucky have wonderful character and lots of opportunities. Another visit is scheduled for Mount Sterling, KY this summer. No other quotes are expected. The club continues to expect additional growth of 10% by the signing deadline of January 3rd.

The Red Zone Alert starts in a week. I have not been the poster child for this alert, but wanted to communicate the importance. We have 10 months to go. That about does it. Does anyone have any questions?"

A reporter in the back asked one question. "Why do you use so much powder?" Kevin replied, "It keeps you dry down there. It is has been very hot and humid and you really cannot put a price on being fresh and dry."

Another reporter asked, "What is your gut feeling for 2007 venue?" Long replied, "I really do not know at this point. I can assure everyone on the coast, they will have a 14-22 hour round-trip drive unless we fly or see a miracle opportunity. I am looking forward to seeing other parts of the country and different opportunities. I have heard a little about the strong venue candidates for next year. The courses are heavily conditioned with very different, very unique layouts. The entertainment opportunities will be vast. These are wonderful things and just looking forward to Captains Club win-win vote on venue in mid-September."

Long told reporters he would take one more question. A reporter asked where the focus is this year and beyond. "We have focused on our three largest issues in the short term. Those being point distribution, one-dimensional non-golf entertainment and activites to increase camaraderie.

As far as beyond, we have evaluated a maximum field of players, possible criteria for registration, itinerary adjustments including 72 hole tournament, adding a second annual tournament, becoming charitable, and financial cinergies. We have plenty of time to consider our options before 2008-2010. That is where we plan to hit the maximum attendance and start making decisions."

Kevin Long said his good byes, reminded everyone once again of the upcoming Red Zone Alert, and left the building for a round of golf.
