VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — Dave Nickles has resurrected from a near-death experience and plowed forward in the Virtual Tournament. Nickles continues to strike gold including 43 points this week in this attempt for glory. His latest round moves him into a tie for 14th position in the Virtual Tournament with 36.6 points per round.

Nickles played the TPC of Virginia Beach scoring 5 bogeys and 2 pars. He scored 43 points.

"My near death experience at the Clarion Hotel has taught me a very valuable lesson," said an enlightened Nickles. "I can die tommorrow from alcohol poisoning and a handicap above 27."

The near death experience has jump started a energized Nickles adding a few more bogeys to each of Nickles latest scorecards. "My new assault on golf courses is a new way of life. Some of the guys call it my post-Spackler life. Some call it the after life. I call it a race to double-digit rounds."

Dave has broken 100 strokes once in his two year history. His consistent average of 105 strokes per round and 29 handicap is something with room to improve.

"Nickles is the only bum that is also my hero," said buddy Jay Glover. "I hope his new life works out for him. I am considering the same type of near-death experience. Maybe getting my stomach pumped this summer to see if it adds a few more 4-point pars."

The 2006 Virtual Tournament enters the home stretch in a matter of months. With the NFL Hall of Fame game scheduled in a couple of weeks, there are 56 guys chasing Chad Long for the top spot before golf slowly takes a back seat to the football season.
