Last Minute Maintenance

ROCKY MOUNT, NC — The Carl Spackler Open, ranked the #1 amateur golf tournament in the world, concludes its tune up in 50 days when it travels to Madison, Ohio for their annual major championship.  With the event, Jamie Myers has decided to complete his last minute maintenance for his trip up north.  The major tees off the first round on Thursday, June 12, 2003 at 12:00 p.m..

"Most of the players have not played a course of this caliber in years", said Myers.  "Our players must have a good mental week individually to keep their confidence up.  Things could get ugly if they choose to take the course lightly."

Leading the way for 2003 Open is 2002 winner Mike Trojanowski and Spackler Outfit receipent Tom McCauley.  The Horses Ass, Mike Watkey is also scheduled to return in June.  Pat McElroy, the 2003 Honoree has been unable to locate his golf clubs since his recent move down the street.  "I have been looking all over the place.  I really need to find them so I can get out and practice."

Most of the field has found time to play a round or two in April.  The tournament will consist of a 54 hole tournament where 1st place will return home with the purse and championship trophy.  The Open begins in 50 days.
