Gus' Pittsburgh Marathon

May 4, 2003

PITTSBURGH, PA — In what can only be described as unbelievable, Gus Sokos today ran the Pittsburgh Marathon, completing all 26.2 miles in just under six hours. When asked for comments on completing the race, Sokos had this to say: "I ran six miles as part of a corporate relay team last year in this race and decided then I wanted to try the whole thing myself next year. I've been doing a lot of training for this; I knew at a minimum it would give me an advantage on Saturday at GVII over those slugs like Boland and McFarland."

Golfapalooza founder GStan just about swallowed his Marlboro when he heard the news. "I would have bet just about anything that Sokos wouldn't have finished the race. Now that this has happened, I guess anything is possible, well anything except believing a word that comes out of Clem's mouth."

For those of you that still don't believe it, here's a link to the official results.
