A Christmas Wish
November 27, 2006
NORTH POLE — The Carl Spackler Open Championship is scheduled to be played in 190 days. "It's time to start thinking about Christmas and not just throwing money away," says Tom McCauley. Each player is required to postmark $120 before December 28. This kind of gift is guaranteed to make a loved one happy and continue to give for years to come.
"There was that excuse about money," says Matt Davis, Vice President of the Captains Club. "I have one thing on my christmas list since everyone has to spend money on Christmas gifts. My wife, 2 kids, dad, mom, and grandparents have the easiest Christmas shopping of anyone I know. A simple greeting card with a note is my Christmas wish."
Tom McCauley has another angle. "My friends and family can take chances and potentially waste time or commit to buying the best gift of all."
Mike Trojanowski, Vice President of Outfits released a quick statement on behalf of the Captains Club, "It is important to put your entry fee on your Christmas list. What gift would be better from the wife then being allowed to attend? The answer is your wife to write out and actually mail the check."
This also goes for the single players. "Our tournament will be a great opportunity, but will not be free so make sure that your mother and boss are aware," says Trojanowski.
All players will be required to register through the Spackler Business Office by postmarking their check by December 28. Invites are available online and a cap of 88 golfers has been established for 2007.
The absolute deadline has been established as a means for our department to count the number of serious players interested in this year's major and for our office to make appropriate accommodations on January 3.
The 2007 Carl Spackler Open Championship is scheduled to begin on June 7 at Grande Golf Club in Jackson, MI. The total cost for the tournament is $348, which includes 6 meals and endless entertainment.
