JACKSON, MI — The Captains Club are officially recruiting the best players and communicating the opportunity for potential rookies to get registered and begin entering scorecards. What appears to be an seven month notice is only two weeks since the tournament registration deadline is 2 1/2 weeks away.

"We would like everyone that has friends thinking about the Carl Spackler Open to get them registered", said Kevin Long, Jr.. "We have a great tournament and would like to see great things happen. Great things happen with great guys and accurate handicaps."

Mark Wray from Ohio and Brad Green from Texas could be the first two rookies to sign. "This sounds like a great experience", said Wray in a written statement. "It took a few years to get through the piles of red tape, but everything is a go for Michigan and the 2007 Virtual Tournament."

The Carl Spackler Open is scheduled for June 6-9, 2007. The Super 8 Motel in downtown Brooklyn, MI has partnered with the Open Championship to provide lodging for the players. The Grande Golf Club just south of Jackson, MI has also be partnered to host the major championship.

Final registrations are expected to rise considerably within the next few weeks. The Captains Club is aggressively recruiting for the next few weeks in hopes of landing some great talent. "One thing is for sure", said Tom McCauley. "We should have a full field of players within the next 3 weeks."
