A Winger & A Prayer

January 26, 2007

JACKSON, MI — The winner of nothing, Kevin Long, Jr., has signed his national letter of intent to play in the 2007 Carl Spackler Open Championship. He filed his paperwork in December.

"It is great to be back," said Kevin Long, a.k.a. Winger. "I am excited to join the state of Virginia and hopefully return the Golden Jacket to the beach. I am also excited about another keg stand or two or three."

Long is best noted for sharting in his pants on the back nine at Mountain Valley.

On a brighter note, he has been quietly improving his golf scores over the past year. The newly purchased offset driver has done a marvelous job of compensating for his over the top golf swing.

"The ball flight looks really good," says Trent Cooper. "It is amazing what technology can do."

The improvements are slowly getting media attention after Winger finished with his 4th Top 10 finish in Raleigh. He opens the 2007 golf season with a career-low 14.4 handicap.

Long signs as the 24th player. He joins four other golfers to represent the state of Virginia. The Option Selector will be available next week with selections beginning on March 8.
