He's Back!

February 2, 2007

POWELL, OH — The winner of the nothing and loser of nothing, Marc Long, has filed the appropriate paperwork and signs to play golf at the 2007 Carl Spackler Open Championship. The tournament is scheduled for June 7 just south of Jackson, MI.

"It is great to be back," said Long from his apartment just west of downtown Powell, OH. "The Mountain Valley installment was a great time. I am hoping for another great time."

Marc Long was caught with his familiar looking work shirt, which demanded a mug shot photograph. "The shirt is a Spackler replica," said brother Chad Long. "The camoflauge fishing hat works really good with the shirt."

In related news, Dan Hagg of Warren, PA has also signed for his second tournament. He returns after placing 53rd at Mountain Valley.

"My girlfriend is paying my way," said Hagg during a telephone interview. "There is nothing better than 'the boss' financing the event."

Marc Long and Dan Hagg sign as the 28th and 29th players. Both players are expected to hack up the course like few participants are capable of doing. Hagg opens the 2007 season with a 35.3 stroke handicap. Long opens with a very high 43.0 stroke handicap.

Long and Hagg finished the Mountain Valley tournament with a fair amount of strokes. They combined to shoot a 389-over 821 over the three round event. "They sure are getting their moneys-worth," said Captains Club member Tom McCauley. "I am hoping to see them slice 100 strokes off this year. Oops! I hope they don't slice."

Hagg finished in 53rd position while Marc finished in 18th position.

The Option Selector will be available shortly, but options are not open for selection until March 8. Golfers looking to select will be expected to visit the website over the 31-day period.
