GALLOWAY, OH — Mark Wray leads the rookie signings for the 2007 Carl Spackler Open Championship. Wray joined back in June 2005 and brings an impressive 7.2 handicap into the national event.

"We are excited that Wray has finally decided on the right thing," member Tom Fowble said. "We believe he will be a great addition as we become a competitive national tournament."

Wray resides in Ohio and plays golf throughout the Columbus area. He displays his magical shots for all to see. He consistently plays well including magical shots like a professional.

"Mark is one of the top golfers in the Columbus area," says Fowble. "He is considered our top rookie golfer in 2007. He is a great student of the game as well as a great golfer. I for one have very high expectations."

Kevin Long, Jr. of the Captains Club had another take. Long remarked, "I have seen a lot of inflated handicaps in my life. Gumby has a great handicap, but folds like my beach chair at the Open. I will believe it when I see it."

Mark placed mid-of-the-pack 31st position in the 2006 Virtual Tournament. He enters his first major championship with some humility. "I am informing the world of golf my desire to participate in one of golf's greatest events," said Wray in his written statement. "I consider it an honor and a privilege to participate in the 2007 Carl Spackler Open."

Wayne Rutter and Ray Flanagan also signed in mid-January to participate in this first major championship. Rutter signs as the 2nd player to represent the state of West Virginia. He resides in Wheeling, WV.

"I am glad to have some help," said fellow West Virginian Scott Miller. "Maybe together we can establish some glory to the Wild & Wonderful."

Ray Flanagan signs as the father of Captains Club member Brian Flanagan. "My dad is looking forward to attending," said Flanagan. "He is bringing his 26-over par stroke handicap into our big tournament with lots of room for improvement. I am already scared."

Both Flanagan and Rutter add decades of experience to the national tournament.

Wray, Ray and Wayne sign as the 33rd, 34th and 35th players overall. The 2007 Carl Spackler Open begins play in 117 days. The tournament itinerary is packed full of activities.
