Goofy Golf Reaches 75
June 1, 2003
DUBLIN, OH — Shawn Long knows goofy golf. His golf went beyond goofy with a 75 on the front nine at the Golf Club of Dublin on Saturday during a wind storm that even had Tiger Woods at plus four. "Two 8's, a 9, a 10, an 11 and a 12 over nine holes is not good", said Shawn. "The back nine brought two 8's, a 9 and a 12 and that is not good either."
Shawn completed his required three rounds of golf to completely qualify for the Open Championship in 10 days. Shawn shot 138, 135 and 127 respectively and will enter the tournament with the highest handicap.
Shawn also decided to skip the opportunity for a Wednesday practice round, but will be receiving one for a triple bogey, three for a double bogey and five for a par. "My NOOG points might look high, but they really aren't. I am not very good right now."
