Golf Swing Overhaul
June 24, 2003
GROVE CITY, OH — CSOC CFO Rick Dosky is in the midst of a program to completely rebuild his golf swing, in response to his poor 2003 CSOC performance, according to anonymous sources. These same sources have also reported that Dosky attempted to enlist the services of Butch Harmon, but he, and every other good swing coach in the nation has a booked schedule, so he?s had to settle for the services of 2001 CSOC Champ Greg Long.
?I?m really disgusted with my up-and-down performances. I need a lot more consistency. I told my wife that I want to finish in the top ten at Golfapalooza this year, or I?m just going to have to think about retiring. She?s been completely supportive.? He continued, ?I don?t just want to change my swing, I want to put some added pressure on myself for more motivation. I?m hoping this press conference will help me to accomplish my top ten goal, since there?s only 96 days left for Golfapalooza.?
?He really doesn?t have much to change. After we change his grip, stance, posture, address, backswing, takeaway, weight transfer and downswing, the only thing left to work on is his putting?, said swing coach Greg Long.
Dosky?s tournament history is as follows: an impressive 4th place (field of 18) in the 2002 CSOC, a solid 8th place finish (field of 26) at the 2002 Golfapalooza, and a dismal 27th (field of 32) at the 2003 CSOC. Currently, Dosky is a respectable 14th in a field of 32 for the Carl Spackler On Tour Championship. If the swing changes take hold soon, Golfapaloozers will have a lot to worry about in September.
