Crazy Casale

April 14, 2007

SKILLMAN, NJ — Nick Casale has opened his 2007 Virtual Tournament in crazy weather conditions. His bravery cannot be ignored as he continues to play golf in the high 40's. It is obvious that Nicholas is making an attempt at greatness.

"My nipples were hard," said Casale of his opening round. "It was cold out there and my scorecards have suffered. Poststats should consider temperature in their handicap system."

Casale played his home course of Cherry Valley Country Club. His consistent rounds resulted in 53 and 55 points and just one triple bogey.

"I am pleased with my opener," said Casale after his opening round. "I think there were 15 holes with bogey or double bogey, which is not terrible under the cirumstances."

Casale has signed to participate in the 2007 Carl Spackler Open Championship in southern Michigan. He is the lone member to represent the state of New Jersey.

Glenn Hoffert was asked to provide his thoughts about Casale's opening rounds. "Golf is not a simple game to master. The more you practice, the better you seem to play. The shorter the golfer, the smaller the swing circumference, and the smaller window for error. Add 1 stroke per inch and Casale vs Hoffert is a great 18-hole match."

Nick finished in 38th position during the 2006 Virtual Tournament with 39.1 points per round. He nearly won the 2005 Virtual Tournament after placing second by 0.9 points per round.

Jason Ridgeway continues to lead this year's Virtual Tournament with 70.0 points per round. Jason Watson is pulling in the caboose with 51.0 points per round.
