My Kitchen Pass

June 10, 2007

JACKSON, MI — Brian Flanagan won the 2007 Kitchen Pass Award after another stunning 96-hour attendance. It is his second round for the dog bowl after winning the award in 2003.

Flanagan's wife took four young children to Nags Head back in June 2003 while he attended Spackler. He caught an early Sunday morning flight from Cleveland to Norfolk so he could finish the remainder of the vacation with family.

This year was more of the same. "My wife's school goes on a school trip every year," said Flanagan in a written statement back in April. "As principal she has to go. Well this year they are going to Washington D.C.. Of course she leaves for the trip on June 6th and returns on June 8th. So I am having her take our four kids with her so I can go to Spackler. So last night we get this call from Washington. The school was selected as this years school that while in D.C. gets to take a tour of the White House."

Flanagan, a.k.a. Butter, took home the dog bowl for the memories and a shot of Jim Beam. Butter is a member of the Captains Club and a 5-time attendee of the Carl Spackler Open.

"It is great to see his priorities in order," said Jason Watson during the awards presentation. "He sets a good example as a leader."

The 2007 Carl Spackler Open Championship was played last weekend in Jackson, MI. The successful tournament included lots of alcohol and golf.
