Dilks Grabs Top Spot
June 11, 2007
OIL CITY, PA — Jay Dilks finished with a 7-over 79 strokes at Jackson Valley Country Club last May. The round was worth 72 points and was his third round of the golf season.
The third-round placed him on the Leaderboard near the top with 69.3 points per round, which was not enough until last week.
"I am playing stunning golf," says Dilks from his home in Oil City, PA. "It is just great to be recognized."
Dilks grabs the top spot in the 2007 Virtual Tournament after Matt Davis got smoked at Blue Heron on Tuesday and Jason Ridgeway burped at Blacklick Woods State Park.
"Dilks has played great golf this year," says Jeremy Myers. "I am glad to see he has finally got the media attention he deserves."
Jay scored 71 points at The Madison Club on May 4 just southeast of Pittsburgh, PA. He poured in 65 points at Lakeview Resort just east of Morgantown, WV on May 3.
In other news, Marty Zabonik carded 3 birdies and 1 eagle early last week to grab third position in the season-long tournament. George Seidel holds 44th position with 43.3 points per round.
