MYRTLE BEACH, SC — Chris Goss returned to the On Tour Championship for the 3rd time since his registration back in 2001.  He has been working his way up the leaderboard this summer and finds himself only a 1/2 point from his first Top 10.

What he doesn't have is a lock on player of the year.  For the first time in three years, golf heads into the stretch run without a lock for "Player of the Year" -- best on tour as voted by the players -- up for grabs.

Nightwine and Zabonik have everything in his corner except attendance at an official major, and Golfapalooza next month at Alpine Lake is Jason Watson's chance for the first ever Grand Slam. If Watson doesn't, it will be interesting to see how the players vote and how many votes Gossy will obtain.  There has never been a player of the year without having won a major that season.

"My biggest goal is to win something this year if not place well", said Gossy.  "That Nightwine guy has to be cheating with NOOG points that high."  Gossy further explained his satisfaction of a Top 10 finish after anchoring the field in the Williamsburg tournament after Round 1.

Other players with Player of the Year possibilities include Greg Long with a multi-course and multi-year statistical edge, Greg Garrett that true defines what it is like to kill a golf ball and Marty Zabonik who is shooting in the 70's, making birdies and challenging everyone for the title.
