Muskie Grabs 2nd Place

July 23, 2007

WARREN, PA — Joe Muscaro, a.k.a. Muskie, grabbed 2nd position in the 2007 Virtual Tournament over the weekend with enormous rounds at Maplehurst Country Club. The 73-83 point rounds in Lakewood, NY impressed the tournament field and have lots of guys talking about the new star.

"Muskie is red hot," said buddy John Sabat, Jr.. "He has brought Maplehurst to its knees. The course was begging for mercy at times during the wonderful weekend of golf."

Muscaro scored 7 pars and 1 birdie on Friday. He returned to the course just south of Jamestown, NY on Saturday where he poured in 8 pars and 2 birdies.

"Saturday was a good day at the office," said Muskie. "I won't lie. There was a lot of pressure after going out in 4-over par. It was a matter of hanging in there and not thinking about the point total. I kept saying to myself, 'Joe. Stay calm. Nothing stupid.'"

Joe did manage to hang in there until the last two holes when the great round caught up to him. He finished double-bogey and bogey to finish 5-over to finish the back nine. Muscaro, who held 11th position prior to Friday, shot up the Leaderboard eight spots into 3rd position towards the season-long Virtual Tournament.

In other news, Kyle Marti continues to sizzle as he grabbed a tie for 4th position after good rounds at Chautauqua Golf Club and Cable Hollow Golf Course. The 68.9 points per round average is quite pleasing to a man that has struggled for years with his golf clubs.

Jason Ridgeway holds first position by 3.0 points per round over Joe Muscaro in the 2007 Virtual Tournament. Marty Zabonik trails by 3.2 points per round after a wild weekend of golf. There is just over 4 months remaining in the season-long tournament.
