WEST LAFAYETTE, OH — Mark Wray, receipent of the latest Carl Spackler Outfit, got off to a terrible start at River Greens Golf Course Sunday, opening with a snowman and finishing with a 24-over 96 to score just 43 points.

The round, which included two back-to-back birdies was a career worst by 2 strokes. Wray shot a 22-over 94 in his website opener at Bent Tree Golf Club back in June 2005. The 30th round of his career was not exactly inspiring for anyone involved.

"It was a tough day, especially the way I started," said Wray at the turn. "I was nervous on the first tee and obviously making triple bogey on the short first hole didn't help."

Wray opened the 2007 Carl Spackler Open Championship with a 28-over 100 strokes at Grande Golf Club. The terrible start dug a gigantic hole that even Mark Wray could not dig himself out of. He scored just 22 points in the first round and just 30 points in the second round wearing the Al Czverik Outfit. He finished the 54 hole tournament with 33 points and zero birdies.

"I couldn't put together my whole game," Wray said of his Sunday round. "Something was missing, either the tee shots or the irons, but mainly the putting. I didn't putt very well today. I played a little bit better on Hole 8 and Hole 9 with back-to-back birdies, but that was most of my points today."

Wray, a 7.7 stroke handicap, scored just 2 pars and 2 birdies during his round at a very easy and wide open River Greens Golf Course. "Thank god he did not play at Black Diamond this morning," said Tom Fowble in the parking lot after his round. "He would have shot at least 110 at Black Diamond. That place is night and day in comparison to River Greens."

Mark Wray falls into 55th position in the 2007 Virtual Tournament with 53.7 points per round. Partner Tom Fowble fell sharply into 56th position after very poor efforts (36 and 51 points) on Sunday.
