Priceless Shot

PITTSBURGH, PA — Mike Long, one of only six golfers to shoot plus 115 during each round of Golfapalooza, joined an even more exclusive club Sunday when he had a hole-in-one on a par-4 at the Lindenwood golf course.  This magical experience shocked the entire field.

Long aced the 170-yard 4th hole with Gus Sokos at his side.  The eagle was his first on the Carl Spackler Tour and only one -- cousin Greg Long in 2002 -- has been recorded an ace on tour.

"I'll remember this shot forever", Mike said. "I hope that doesn't effect my MELC points for Golfapalooza."  Mike continued explaining his experience.  "I'll be 33 years old in 5 months and I've played this game for years and I've never seen anything like it, just read about it."

Mike Long, who finished with a 31-over 103, plans to bring the golf ball as a souvenir to Golfapalooza as a token of his mastery.  "I am keeping the ball for them", Long said. "But they won't believe it unless they see it for themselves or here it from Sokos.

Despite the one great shot Sunday, Mike Long is currently holding 8th place inside the On Tour Championship.  Golfapalooza begins sharply in 29 days.  A field of 25 players have paid their fees and are looking forward to the MELC Championship.
