POWELL, OH — Vice President of Entertainment, Brian Flanagan today announced the signing of himself from Powell, Ohio, to a national letter of intent during the signing period. Flanagan's signing is considered a shoe-in after winning the 2008 Golden Jacket.

The tournament purse from Michigan was a full credit to the next major championship. The change in prize came last January after Shawn Long decided not to return after winning the 2006 Carl Spackler Open in Raleigh.

Brian Flanagan, a.k.a. will return for his 6th Carl Spackler Open. He is the third official signing to the national championship.

"I told my wife about the event being 'so close' this year," said Flanagan. "She replied, 'I couldn't care less where the hell it is, ask Long when I am going to get something for you winning all the dog bowls.'"

Butter Flanagan ran away with the 8th Major Championship in Michigan with unbelievable golf and Kitchen Pass Award after stunning passes. He signs with trophy, free golf trip, dog bowl, and most importantly the Golden Jacket.

"Daddy. Are you going to that golf thing again this year?" asked Butter's youngest son. Brian replied, "Yes." His son asked, "Are you going to win another jacket?" Butter replied, "I am going to try. It is not an easy thing to do." Flanagan's son pointed above the television in the family room, "Can I wear the jacket to school?" Flanagan chuckled and replied, "No. You must earn the priviledge. It is something you will understand when your older."

The jacket remains in its elevated state, which is above the television in the family room. Butter added, "I love when people come over and say, 'What's that?' It gives me the opportunity to say, 'I am a champion. A major champion.'"

Flanagan was asked about his chances to win the prestigious Golden Jacket. He simply replied, "I fully expect to be wearing the jacket when I leave Peru on Sunday morning. The game plan last year worked out really well. I am not planning to let down my family either. My only homework this winter is find the right person to help me put on the jacket. Maybe another Ohioan with one of the five jackets. Maybe someone from Virginia with no hopes to ever experience it."

In other news, Harold Anderson continued to boost the demand for Carl Spackler Open participation. The written commitment on Tuesday makes the tournament cap highly probable. David Bol and Bob Jastrzebski are also rumored to attend. There are 13 signed participants, 55 other written and verbal commitments, and numerous potential rookies.

The 2008 Carl Spackler Open Championship begins in 196 days in Peru, IN. Player registration continues with non-refundable non-transferable deposits due in the mail by December 28.
