A Christmas Wish

November 28, 2007

NORTH POLE — Remember when you were a child and there was a special wish you had for Christmas? The Carl Spackler Open is ageless and making your grown-up dreams come true by granting wishes that will make someone happy throughout the year -- not just at Christmas time. Every June is Christmas!

The Carl Spackler Open Championship is scheduled to be played in 190 days. It's open registration began on November 15 and runs until the tournament cap is reached or December 28.

"It's time to start thinking about true gift giving and not just throwing money away on gift cards," says Captains Club member Matt Davis. Each player is required to postmark $120 before December 28. This kind of gift is guaranteed to make a loved one happy and continue to give for years to come.

Davis explains the importance of putting your entry fee on your Christmas list. "What gift would be better from the wife then being allowed to attend?" asked Davis. "The answer is your wife writing out and mailing the check for you."

The Christmas season started last Friday. There are 33 days left before the registration period is over.

"There was that excuse about money," says Matt Davis, Vice President of the Bag Storage and Tournament Gifts. "I have one thing on my christmas list. My friends and family can take chances and potentially waste time or commit to buying the best gift of all."

Pokey also reminded players of the importance of getting your vacation logged in with the boss. He said, "Getting your vacation scheduled today will be the hint towards the best employee gift possible. Maybe a freebee vacation day or additional funds towards the tournament."

All players will be required to register through the Spackler Business Office by postmarking their check by December 28. Registration details are available online and a financial cap of 68 golfers has been established.

The absolute deadline has been established as a means for our department to count the number of serious players interested in this year's major and for our office to make appropriate accommodations on January 3.

There are 22 participants signed for the 8-year golf tournament. There are 46 spots left in the talent field.

The 2008 Carl Spackler Open Championship is scheduled to begin on June 5 at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru, IN. The total cost for the tournament is $359, which includes 6 meals, shuttle transportation, and lots of entertainment.
