CHARLOTTE, NC — Jeremy Myers will not be all alone. North Carolina will once again be weaker as the tournament moves towards its 8th major championship in Peru, IN. Chris Milam followed up the weak Myers signing from Davidson, NC just outside Charlotte.

"Glad to be back," said Milam. "I wish someone with a stronger game would help Carolina out. I am looking forward to attending again this year and getting a new hat."

Milam added, "I do have a complaint. Spackler should be held every six months instead of once a year.

I look forward to the opportunity of competing for the biggest slice award again this coming year. Hopefully I can respond to the challenge of a weak state and bring an elevated 'D' game to the event."

The 6-1, 190lb Milam recorded 42nd position in the 2006 tournament. He fell even further to 55th position in Michigan. "There are lot of distractions as a rookie," said Milam in a written statement. "There are even more when your a member. My inability to ignore the temptations that surround the players each year has cost me personally. North Carolina deserves gold and nobody seems to be stepping up. There is nobody to blame, but Myers and myself for the annual North Carolina failures."

Milam carded a record high seven quadruple bogeys at the Grande during Round 1. He followed that up on Friday with two quadruple bogeys and one sextuple bogey. The big numbers returned during the final round. He poured in three quadruple bogeys and two septuple bogeys at two par 3's.

Mike Trojanowski asked, "I am not a good golfer. Sometimes it gets really bad out there, but how in the world does someone record septuple bogey at the Grande's 5th hole? No water hazards, downhill, and just 130 yards."  

Milam replied, "I placed my first shot into the woods on the left. Re-teed and hit my third shot into the tall fescue in front of the tee. Re-teed again and hit it right of the green. Then a deplorable chip and four-putted. My actions required a six pack purchase on the next tee.  Definitely not one of my finer moments."

The 2008 Carl Spackler Open registrations have heated up over the last week. Milam signs as the 13th player. The deadline for registration is postmarked this Friday, December 28.
