PERU, IN — Ray Flanagan, one of the most experienced participants at the Michigan tournament, has signed once again and plans to return for a chance to keep the Golden Jacket in the family. Ray returns after finishing 16th last June.

"The older crew have the most experience," says Greg Long of the Captains Club. "They keep their head up and manage their golf games very well. I can say this after playing the final round in Michigan with three guys at least 10 years older than me. They all looked like they were on auto pilot out there."

Long added, "I am pretty sure all three guys beat me straight up during the final round. Experience and maturity becomes essential during a big-time tournament. Especially when you ready to throw golf clubs."

Ray Flanagan, a.k.a. Stingray, is the father of Brian Flanagan. Both are rumored to be developing a similar game plan.

In other related news, Harold Anderson, a.k.a. Paco, signed in late-November to play golf at the 2008 Carl Spackler Open Championship. He signs and plans to represent the state of New York.

Paco posts a single-digit handicap back home. He carded bogey golf during the first two rounds of the Carl Spackler Open in Michigan. He showed signs of this single-digit handicap during the final round when he shot a 11-over 83.

The plumber from Sherman, NY loves Jackson Valley Country Club where he takes advantage of the hilly terrain. "Controlling my hook is my only concern," says Anderson. "This rookie has an aggressive game plan, which includes attacking the pins and the tournament Leaderboard."

Harold Anderson and Ray Flanagan sign as the 11th and 12th players to the tournament field. There are 34 spots remaining before next Friday, December 28. The 2008 Carl Spackler Open Championship begins on June 5 in Peru, IN. The 54-hole tournament will be played at Rock Hollow Golf Club.
