Dosky to be Repaired

January 16, 2008

COLUMBUS, OH — Rick Dosky, Chief Financial Officer of the Carl Spackler Open Championship, will be leaving home this morning for a 3 to 4 day visit to Grant Memorial Hospital says a report out of SNN this week.

Dosky, winner of the 2005 Golden Jacket, will begin the process of replacing one of his two poorly working hips. Dosky is expected to recover after four weeks of rest.

"The rumor is true," says Dosky from his home in Westerville, OH. "I have updated the website with received checks and will be heading to the hospital to be rebuild my golfing career."

Dosky was asked whether he would be coming to Indiana in June. He replied, "I will remain probable. My golfing attendance will be based on doctors orders, which will be determined in a couple of months."

Dosky would have won the 2007 Carl Spackler Open in Michigan by 10 strokes using the USGA Handicap System. Brian "Butter" Flanagan would have placed second. Instead Butter Flanagan won by 40 points and Dosky finished in a tie for 11th position using Poststats Points.

Rick Dosky is presently the 5th best golfer in Spackler history. He follows Trent Cooper, Jason Ridgeway, Pat Boland, and Shawn Long. Dosky is the winner of the 2004 Kitchen Pass Award.

"His unpredictable hips has given him quite an edge using golf handicap systems," says senior member Tom Fowble. "We will see if he can rebuild himself and return as strong and consistent as Matt Davis has done after surgeries."

The 2008 Carl Spackler Open will be played at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru, IN. There are 57 golfers registered to participate in the annual event. The tournament field has been set at 60 golfers.
