Finding No Peace
October 8, 2003
TERRA ALTA, WV — Patrick Boland would seem to have few complaints about his season. At age 36, he was working his way up the On Tour Championship leaderboard and reached the 70's on the 4th of July. Boland does not see it that way when he sleeps on his face.
"It's been a terrible Golfapalooza for golf and sleep", Hurricane said after his tie for 17th in the 27-man field at Golfapalooza VII. "Other people can think that I have improved, but I can't stand it. I expect too much of myself and I need a freek'n bed."
Boland slept on the floor and in the car to get his 6 total hours of Golfapalooza sleep.
Boland's goal was to win something. A review of Patrick's statistics confirmed the worst. "Go look at my stats. You cannot believe how bad they are," Boland said. "I'm not in the top 27 in any category except driving distance into the woods." The Hurricane did win something. The Max Dieterle Fire Marshall Award.
