A Tackling Advantage

December 10, 2003

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA — Kyle Marti, tournament member, announced today that he is "extremely embarrassed" and hopes he retires with one career tackle.  Kyle Marti finished his 3rd Round of the Carl Spackler Open by tackling Matt Davis on Hole #18.  Davis missed his 5-foot putt.

"I wish the tackle was null and void, but it really was not my fault", said an embarrassed Marti.  "McFarland basically killed me out there with the Captains Morgan."  Kyle Marti plans to eliminate a good portion of his alcohol intake this year to eliminate further social issues.

Marti started with 118 strokes in Round 1 and 115 strokes in Round 2.  He kept his cool in Round 3 by shooting 58 strokes on the front nine, but the wheels came off.  Marti stroked the ball 87 times on the back nine finishing 12, 15, 4, 15 and 15.
