Beverages Prices
December 22, 2008
PITTSBURGH, PA — On behalf the Captains Club, Jay Dilks began to release details surrounding the 9th Major Championship scheduled for June in Virginia. Dilks gladly took the responsibility of releasing financials surrounding alcohol and general beverage at Poplar Grove.
"Poplar Grove beer will be once again cheapest in event history," said with a big smile. "The price per beer will be $2 and the same as Rock Hollow." Poplar Grove will provide thousands of beverages using two beverage carts and a tent off the 9th green throughout the week.
"My two cases of beer remains under $100," said a delighted Matt Davis. "The beverage cart girls should be happy with our consumption levels." Senior member Chris Milam asked, "Do you think the course will be ready to sell 2,000 beers?" Davis replied, "The pro suggested the price was unimportant because he makes his money on the greens fees. With record-low pricing, we are stressing the importance of a fully stocked facility prior to our arrival."
Poplar Grove provided lots of non-alcoholic beverages, ignored two small personal coolers, and a Bosch Power Box back in September 2008.
"There will not be bulk purchasing of beer this year with already record-low clubhouse prices," said Don Creighton, Vice President of Safe Transportation. "We are working on a bus service to/from the golf course each day."
In addition to the clubhouse, participants can expect another small lounge in the hotel with very cheap drink specials. The nightly entertainment in Lynchburg will rise considerably as the quality of nighttime entertainment rises.
The 2009 Carl Spackler Open Championship registration period started on November 15 and ends on January 28. The tournament is expected to sign between 76 to 90 golfers.
