LYNCHBURG, VA — A mandatory tournament player's meeting is scheduled at 8:00AM on Thursday in the Quality Inn meeting room. The required meeting will take approximately 60 minutes with the shuttle bus leaving for the golf course immediately afterwards.

"Our meeting will cover many things," says Mike Davis. "Please be seated prior to 8:00AM as the meeting will last the entire 60 minutes."

"I like the meeting as I get my first glimpse of the Golden Jacket," says Matt Pritchard. "I also come away with full knowledge of the week ahead."

The meeting is a chance for players to get to know one-another and discuss important event notables such as bus schedule, bag storage & transportation, meals, baseball game, and nightly schedule.

The meeting will also provide golf contest information and award explanations such as Horses Ass, Lacey Underall Sash, and Kitchen Pass Awards.

The Captains Club will chair a rule discussion and provide player expectations. The daily pairing sheets for Round 1 are expected to be distributed and explained at the meeting.

"There will gift distribution at the player meeting this year," says Greg Long. "Apparel purchases will also be distributed at the meeting for efficiency reasons."

The Carl Spackler Open Championship will be held at Poplar Grove Golf Club in Amherst, VA. There are multiple entertainment activites planned including baseball game, belly flop contest, and fun at Cattle Annies.
