SANTA MONICA, CA — While "Beverly Hills 90210" was making its ten year run, Tim Davis never watched a single episode. The affairs of rich kids in Beverly Hills really didn't interest him; and, even though Jennie Garth and Tiffani Amber-Thiessan are real eye candy, that wasn't enough to tie him to watching a weekly continuing drama with what I thought would be such an uninteresting subject.

Instead, he studied in hopes of becoming a doctor, earning big money, and becoming eye candy himself. The 2007 Rookie of the Year, Dr. 90210, has since become a doctor in the wealthy suburb of Santa Monica, CA. He is in line for his Starbucks with Jennifer Anniston and in line for his television debut on Dr. 90210. He also has signed for his 3rd major championship in 3 years.

"Is he bringing those cigars," said Jeremy Myers on hearing of his commitment. "If he hits another 280 yard uphill drive to 6-feet of the pin again, I will swim across the lake at Poplar Grove. If eight guys are standing on the green like in Michigan, I will swim the lake naked."

Davis drove the extremely narrow uphill par-4 18th hole during the 4-man Scramble in Brooklyn, Michigan. "I have considered a lot of things possible in my life, but never considered the 18th green on the fly as possible," said Bob Morris. "It would take Tiger Woods three hours to reproduce that shot. Incredible!"

Tim returns after a horrible performance in both Michigan and Indiana. He enters this year's tournament as the 2nd worst player in Spackler history. Dr. 90210 placed 56th in Michigan with 62 golfers and placed 71st in Indiana with 72 golfers.

Fellow doctor Matt Boland signs for 4th straight event. Boland, a.k.a. Pat's Beer Bitch, returns as the reigning Kitchen Pass Award Winner and Worst Putter in Spackler history.

"His putting his horrible at best," says Jay Glover. "The Jack Nicklaus posture over the ball is not working for him. The good news is he dedicated to performing. The bad news is the greens in Amherst will be the fastest in our 9-year history."

Boland enters the Poplar Grove tournament after placing in 21st position at Rock Hollow; a career best. "I am starting to get my footing," says Boland. "I think everyone will be surprised on Saturday evening."

Boland added as he got up from the press table, "Whoever is in charge of jackets... I am a 48 regular."

The 2009 Carl Spackler Open Championship has 84 participants and scheduled to tee off in 50 days. The annual and optional 4-man scramble is scheduled to be played in eightsomes. Live music is expected both Wednesday and Saturday night at Big Lick Tropical Bar.
