Snack Order Purchased

June 4, 2009

ROCKY MOUNT, NC — The Captains Club announced this afternoon that the large snack order has been purchased for the 2009 Carl Spackler Open Championship. Jeremy Myers was grabbed outside the Rocky Mount Sam's Club by a local reporter to answer some questions about the purchase.

Reporter: "Hey Mr. Myers. Do you have a moment?"

Myers: "Sure."

Reporter: "It looks like you have lots of goodies there."

Myers: "Yes. The order for the Carl Spackler Open is complete. Now I have to keep this in my house without my girls getting into it."

Reporter: "What is the Carl Spackler Open?"

[Myers smacks the reporter behind the head]

Myers: "Are you stupid! The Carl Spackler Open is a National Golf Championship with players coming from Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, and Boston. Are you telling me that you have never heard of Matt Pritchard and Don Creighton?"

Reporter: "Sorry. I have not heard of them."

[Myers swings his arm to hit the reporter in the back of the head, but the reporter moves.]

Myers: "Pritchard! The Crapper! Creighton? Do you not follow golf at all?"

Reporter: "Let's change the subject. What did you buy this year?"

Myers: "No chocolate that melts, but pretty much anything else. We have a lots of potato chips and pretzels. We also have 300 pieces of bubble gum."

Reporter: "So back to the Carl Spackler Open. What is going on this year besides a golf tournament? Anything else planned?"

Myers: "Creighton is throwing out the first pitch Thursday Night at the Lynchburg Hillcats baseball game in the Carl Spackler Outfit."

Reporter: "What else?"

Myers: "I heard McCauley is bringing a gopher in a pet taxi this year. He is going to kiss it at our player meeting."

Reporter: "You're kidding?"

Myers: "It is a rumor, but he did kiss a snapping turtle last year."

Reporter: "I do not believe you. What else?"

Myers: "I plan to sing 'I want to Dance with Somebody' by Whitney Houston on Thursday night. They have karoke at Cattle Annies."

Reporter: "You guys are something else."

Myers: "Yes. We are. I have to get back to the office."

The 2009 Carl Spackler Open Championship will include 1,100 individual vending machine snacks including potato chips, crackers, gum, fritos, peanuts, pretzels, cookies, crackerjack, chex mix, cheetos, and skittles will be available starting Wednesday night. Snacks are purchased for both nighttime and golftime munching.

The breakfast supplied by the hotel provides fruit and muffins.

The snack purchase includes 12 snacks per golfer. Please do not exceed these limits until early Saturday morning. With cooperation, this is expected to add an estimated $450 value to the Carl Spackler Open.
