WESTLAND , MI — Some guys dream of a day where they play a round without a double-bogey. Some other guys try to manage the number of double-bogeys scored per round. There are even a small number of guys who can on occasion finish a round without a double-bogey, however experiencing a double-bogey by Brian Linley might be more rare than a Bob Jastrzebski, Jr. birdie.

Rookie Linley, a.k.a. Kwam J, posted his required 4+ scorecards to participate in this week's Carl Spackler Open Championship. The 5 posted rounds, which were posted in April and May, were good for a +0.4 stroke handicap and zero double bogeys.

"I have never seen someone with zero double-bogeys through five rounds," says Captains Club member Brian Long. "The very rare experience actually found a programming flaw in the Poststats handicap system."

Kwam J has since entered four more scorecards, which has adjusted his stroke handicap to +4.1 strokes. "Linley finally scored a double-bogey," added Long. "That is 162 holes with 1 double-bogey, 5 birdies, 63 bogeys, and 93 pars. Holy Ridgeway Batman!"

The extremely consistent Linley scored his lone double-bogey at Hilltop Golf Course in Plymouth, MI. He scored 16 pars the round before the double-bogey.

Rookie Kwam J played his longest round at 6,445 yards. His worst point-driven round came at the 6,014-yard Hickory Creek Golf Course. He scored just 57 points.

Brian Linley plans to enter his first Major Championship this week in Amherst, Virginia. He presently holds 9th position in the 2009 Virtual Tournament with 62.9 points per round.
