Gorby Fires 5-over 75

August 19, 2009

DELAWARE, OH — Justin Gorby was a little nervous as the scores for the 2009 Virtual Tournament were posted this summer. August has come and Gorby played Glen Ross Sunday afternoon with much flair.

Gorby, a.k.a. JT, scored 82 points after posting a 37-38=75 from the Black Tee at Glen Ross. The 5-over 75 included two birdies, five bogeys, and a single double-bogey.

"Pretty consistent," says senior member Jeff Miller. "The double-bogey at the 16th hole would be considered a 'round killer' to many guys on tour. I am pretty sure that is the easiest hole at Glen Ross."

Gorby birdied the very difficult 3rd hole, which plays 191 yards. He also birdied the 398-yard 12th hole.

The 82-point effort moved JT into a tie for 17th position in the 2009 Virtual Tournament with 62.9 points per round.

In other news, Brad Carder pumped in 88 points at Thorn Apple Country Club. Carder scored 4 pars worth 28 points and 9 bogeys worth 36 points.

Chad Long continues to lead the season-long tournament with 71.7 points per round. Chad has plans to play the very windy Carolina Club on Friday.
