Scoring Integrity Added
November 16, 2005
COLUMBUS, OH — Poststats.com, Inc., future provider of services supporting
amateur sports entertainment, added another service to its already large
portfolio. The services are immediately available to registered members of
Poststats.com Beta.
The first was the ability for golfers to sign scorecards online. That means
all scorecards can be signed by fellow playing partners. Poststats.com uses
course data along with time of play to find matches for possible signature.
Signing scorecards can take place up to 30 days after play. You can find
"scorecard signature" right next to add scorecard on the new website.
"We are very excited to add integrity to scorecards, handicapping, and
future tournaments," says CEO Michelle Long. "There is much more coming."
As of today, each scorecard can be signed by one golfer. By spring, if you
play in a foursome, each of you can sign each others card. That is
potentially 12 signatures for one day at the course. Golfers who enter
scorecards for other golfers within their private community are agreeing
with the scores, and by default signing these scorecards. However, the
scorecard of the golfer entering the scorecards is not signed.
The signature process is optional and signed cards are easily identified by
a green check mark. The actual scorecard displays the golfer who signed the
scorecard.
