LAGUNA VISTA, TX — The #1 tournament in amateur golf, Carl Spackler Open, held a press conference without questions on Sunday to provide details surrounding the lodging for the 2010 Carl Spackler Open Championship. Pat Boland showed up in his swim suit to deliver the details.

"Hi everyone. The lodging for April 2010 is completely different than the past 8 years," said Boland. "Our lodging this year will be 2-bedroom condominiums located on golf course property.

Participants will be assigned a golf course condominium on Pinehurst Drive, Doral Drive, or possibly Augusta Court. The condominiums are located 10 seconds to 60 seconds from each other and an 8-minute walk from the clubhouse.

Participants can expect each condominum to have a driveway, one-car garage, washer, dryer, full kitchen, living room with sofa, patio, master bedroom with king bed, master bathroom with shower and large tub, second bathroom with shower, and second bedroom with two twin beds. There will be three participants assigned to each condominium.

The $399 golf trip fee includes one of two twin beds or couch. The master bedroom is an upgrade through the participant option process. It will cost an additional $60.00.

The condos will not have food or drink, but will have silverware, plates, pots, microwave, refrigerator, oven, and other cooking and eating accessories.

The Captains Club and South Padre Island Golf Club are presently working through an efficient process surrounding initial golf bag drop off, condo check-in, condo check-out, and returning golf bags to condominiums on Sunday. The goal by April 2010 is for all participants to receive a key to their designated condominium.

The roommates will be structured first using rookies and their referrals. Then all participants who have decided on a master suite with king bed will be assigned a condominium. The remaining roommates for each condo will be finished by using Wednesday night arrivals and suggestions collected in March from the participant option process.

The 2010 Carl Spackler Open Championship will be held at South Padre Island Golf Club in Laguna Vista, TX. The 10th annual event is expecting 40 to 60 participants with 30 percent of the tournament field residing in Ohio.
