Switch Hitting Carder Signs
March 3, 2010
GROVE CITY, OH — The Carl Spackler Open and its Captains Club announced the signing of Brad Carder to a national letter of intent for the April birthday party/golf tournament. Carder, a.k.a. Bernie, returns after an impressive 15th place finish in the 2009 Virtual Tournament.
"I am looking forward to playing in my second Spackler Open," said Carder from his home in Galloway, OH. "I am a man of excuses. I did not know what to expect in my rookie year. This year will be different starting with a pre-practice round on April 14. My main goal is to win, but I will also be playing not to wear the Carl Spackler Outfit."
Bernie purchased his $99 airline ticket in January 2010. "The early warm arrival on Wednesday is very exciting. Course knowledge is important at a major golf tournament and my course knowledge should become interesting bar conversation on Wednesday night."
Carder is best known for his ability to switch hit. Brad will play the tournament with seven right handed clubs and six left handed clubs. "There is no way," said Jean Dore of Virginia Beach. "That is impossible."
The switch-hitting Carder presently boasts a +31.1 stroke handicap. Bernie posted 80+ points for 3-straight rounds in the summer of 2009. The 249 points over 3 rounds was most ever recorded in Carl Spackler Open history.
Brad carded 23-over 95 on August 12 at Thornapple Country Club. The monsterous round was worth 88 points and his lowest stroke total ever.
In other news, Rick Dosky continues to post checks as they arrive to the business office. The 10th annual Carl Spackler Open will be held in Laguna Vista, TX. There are 48 to 60 participants expected to participate.
