ST. LOUIS, MO — Captains Club member Pat Boland, a.k.a. Hurricane, registered for his 7th straight Carl Spackler Open in January. The +16.6 stroke handicap signs as the 33rd player after purchasing a Southwest Airlines ticket from St. Louis, MO.

"The 'Hurricane' is very comfortable with the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico," says Pat Boland. "Hurricane Pat is going to make landfall on April 15 and expected to do some considerable damage."

Boland has finished 21st, 12th, 4th, 23rd, 12th, and 15th over his 6 year career. Boland remarked, "I might not be there after Round 1, but do plan to finish in the Top 20 by Sunday afternoon in Texas. It just seems to happen on a regular basis." Boland is the 3rd best player in Spackler history behind Trent Cooper and Jason Ridgeway.

Pat Boland is one of three participants with South Padre Island Golf Club experience. "The golf course is beautiful and different," Boland says. "The palm trees, bayside design, and constant breeze is something very different. The greens are much flatter than normal venues, but much faster than a typical southern golf course."

Boland joined the Captains Club after the Michigan event. The Vice President of Red Tee Lottery and Cancellations plans to organize the Red Tee Lottery and Distribution again this year.

The 2010 Carl Spackler Open Championship will host 48 to 52 participants. The annual tournament opened a 12-hour window on Saturday for beach activities. The Wanna Wanna Beach Bar is located on the Gulf of Mexico. The facility has a full dinner menu, bar, beach volleyball, and live music.
