Rusty Reustle Unretires

March 16, 2010

LYNBROOK, NY — Not satisfied with having zero offspring that he was aware of, Rob Reustle planted a seed for delivery on June 8, 2008. "That's right, he has no brain," said senior member Nick Casale. "This was a major disappointment and celebration at the same time."

The Reustle announcement back in the fall of 2007 ended his 2-year career. He became one of a list of Red Zone retirees. The annual alert is the event reminder about unprotected sex, possible pregnancy, and annual birthday conflict.

"Yes. I violated the Red Zone," said Reustle. "It is a hefty price to pay, but worth it."

The Carl Spackler Open moved from its traditional date in June to April for the once-in-a-decade southern Texas event. "I could hardly believe my ears," said Reustle of the Texas decision. "I went through the five stages of excitement with acceptance several months later."

Reustle is obviously referring to:

(1) Shock & Denial (2) Encouragement (3) Pleasure (4) Happiness (5) Acceptance

"I have decided to return as a player to the game I love," said Reustle, three years removed from what seemed to be a storybook ending to an unparalleled golf career. "I am excited about the southern Texas venue and chance to beat one of the best fields in golf. My choice to unretire for the Carl Spackler Open comes with much jubilation."

Reustle returns from his stunning 13th place finish in Michigan. The 2-year member placed 44th in his rookie event.

"This could be my single opportunity to bring the state of New York their second Golden Jacket," said Reustle. "There are a lot of crazy New York Reustle fans out there and they hate placing 2nd."

Reustle registered in February as the 37th player after purchasing a Continental Airlines ticket to Harlingen, TX. There are 51 or 52 participants expected for the 10th annual birthday party. There are 30 days before Round 1.
