NEW KENSINGTON, PA — Grady Walters believes he could be just six months away from becoming the first player to win the On Tour Championship from the state of Pennsylvania.
The 35-year old, who scored 20 points at Paxon Hollow on Saturday is ready to give it his all this season. Although the low point effort is his first round of the season, Grady expects things to improve. "I'm not a believer in just going out there and walking round a golf course for the exercise," said Walters. "If you don't think you can win don't put the tee in on Hole #1. I just got to remove the snowman off the scorecard."
Grady continued, "My life has changed since my signing to play in the 2004 Carl Spackler Open. In a lot of ways, golf is not the be-all and end-all, but the fire in my belly and my determination are as strong as ever. I'm also just as excited about the On Tour Championship. I haven't played for a while and it's been disappointing."
The On Tour Championship started March 1 and Kevin Long, Sr. remains strong and in the lead with 45.8 points per round. Grady is on pace to enter the leaderboard in second-to-last place.
