TERRA ALTA, WV — As the weather heats up and the days get longer, thoughts naturally turn to nothing else but Golfapalooza. The Founding Fathers have been devoting a lot of thought to this year's event with final plans just about wrapped up. Golfapalooza founder GStan sat down to give an update on what could be the biggest Golfapalooza event in its 14 year history.

"I'm not sure I've ever been more fired up for a G event," GStan said recently. "It may not show in the email loop or the Facebook group, but we've been putting in a lot of time to plan for what we're calling GXIV. Some Loozers out there make fun of the Roman numerals, but our thoughts are that if it's good enough for the NFL, it's good enough for us. We're very close to deciding on a shirt color; Patch has voted for purple with a pink stripe. We may have to special order one for him that he can wear for the four man scramble."

"One thing about Golfapalooza is that we try to improve the event every year. For example, it was quite obvious to everyone that the four man scramble finished in the dark last year. To that end, we have scheduled tee times on Friday to start at 9:00 am this year. Hopefully by moving up an hour we'll be able to have everyone finish in daylight and not have to putt by the headlights of someone's van on 9." As for what is staying the same at this year's event, GStan could barely contain himself.

"It's amazing sometimes the way some things at G just grab you by the short hairs and doesn't let go. If someone had told me five years ago that we would be playing some beanbag toss game until 2:00 am while drinking vodka slush I would have asked them for a hit off of what they were smoking. We heard some good things from Monte at the Coach JT golf scramble about the Woo Woo machine. Monte recently found some sweet tea flavored vodka that tasted really good, Sheik is talking about trying out some whiskey and ginger in the machine, maybe some 7&7. The possibilities really are endless."

GStan then turned the agenda over to Sheik to provide a lodging update. "As we did last year, there will be two houses available for everyone. It really worked out well to have the extra space. Once again the rule will be that rookies have to sleep at the Wilson cabin to get the full G experience. We are hearing some good things about a potential new rookie class, but until I get cash from them I won't believe any of them are showing up."

Enrollment for this year's event should launch in the next 7-10 days. Online payment capability will be on the site for anyone that wishes to do so.
