An Eagle has Landed
May 24, 2004
GAHANNA, OH — There were no eagles circling the Bent Tree course at Sunbury until Jason Ridgeway carded the 1st Spackler eagle on Sunday evening. "His 310 yard drive up the fairway and 3-wood from 242 yards set up his putt from 30 feet", said Matt Pritchard as he looked in amazement.
"He only gets 2 for par and kicked my ass today", said Pritchard that shot 20 points before slope was added. "He missed a few birdies from close range that would have taken our outing to embarrassment. Someone needs to take away his par points. This is quite ridiculous."
Jason Ridgeway carded a 73 last weekend at Cook's Creek. He carded a terrible 76 at Bent Tree after taking a triple-bogey 8 on Hole #3.
"These guys are over-reacting", said Ridgeway after his round. "That eagle was lucky and as you can see, I only made a few putts yesterday." Ridgeway is in 6th place on the On Tour Championship Leaderboard despite his zero points for bogey and two point par.
