A Christmas Wish

November 26, 2010

NORTHPOLE — Remember when you were a child and there was a special wish you had for Christmas? The Carl Spackler Open is ageless and making your grown-up dreams come true by granting wishes that will make someone happy throughout the year -- not just at Christmas time. Every June is Christmas!

The Carl Spackler Open Championship is scheduled to be played in 194 days. Open registration began on October 17 and runs through January 31, 2011.

"It's time to start thinking about true gift giving and not just throwing money away on gift cards," says Captains Club member Chris Philipsen. Each participant is required to provide a financial deposit. This kind of gift is guaranteed to make a loved one happy and continue to give for years to come.

Philipsen explains the importance of putting your golf trip fee or possibly an airline ticket on your Christmas list. "What gift would be better from the wife then an airline ticket to Harrisburg International Airport?" asked Philipsen. "The answer is your wife writing out and mailing a check for $415 to Carl Spackler Open, Inc."

The Christmas season starts today. The registration period concludes in 66 days on January 31.

"There was that rare excuse about money," says Philipsen, Vice President of Online Scoring. "I have one thing on my christmas list. My friends and family can take chances and potentially waste time or commit to buying the best gift of all."

Chris also reminded players of the importance of getting your vacation logged in with the boss. He said, "Getting your vacation scheduled today will be the hint towards the best employee gift possible. Maybe a freebee vacation day or an early company bonus."

The absolute deadline has been established as a means for our non-profit organization to count the number of serious players interested in this year's major and for our office to make appropriate accommodations.

The 2011 Carl Spackler Open Championship will be played at Mountain Valley Golf Course in Barnesville, PA.  There are 70 to 90 participants expected for the 11th annual event.
